May your days be many and your troubles be few.
May all God’s blessings descend upon you.
May peace be within you, may your heart be strong.
May you find what you’re seeking wherever you roam.
May the strength of God pilot us, may the wisdom of God instruct us.
May the hand of God protect us, may the word of God direct us.
May thy Salvation, O Lord, be always ours this day and for evermore.
Amen. – St. Patrick
Today we are using the life of St. Patrick as our guide for our prayers. St. Patrick was kidnapped and taken to Ireland as a slave at the age of 16. After escaping captivity, he eventually became a priest and then a missionary, bringing the Words of Jesus Christ to Ireland.
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,” - Matthew 28:19
“Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.” – Psalm 96:3
We praise God for the students who attended the mentorship week and made the decision to follow Jesus and leave their old ways behind them.
We pray for all the children to have a living faith to face the challenges of each day, and for them to become advocates for Jesus to others.
One of the tools St. Patrick used for bringing the gospel to Ireland was the shamrock. The three leaves of the shamrock represent the Trinity; the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
“There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.” - Ephesians 4:4-6
“May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.” - 2 Corinthians 13:14
Lord, we praise and thank you for all the missionaries who have traveled to Uganda and all of Africa, to establish and grow the presence of Father God, Christ Jesus and the Holy Spirit in the lives of Africans.
We pray for the pastors and leaders in Uganda; Pastor Alex and his team at Salem Missions; Pastors Patrick and Eva at Maranatha; Pastor Sam and his teams at the Hoffman and Immanuel homes and Greater Love school; and our team, Margaret, Rachael and Pastor Isaac. They are all God’s missionaries to the children.
